Philotas' last words

Post by DSymes »

Massimo writes that Philotas' yelled "Alalai" at his execution just as the arrows pierced his heart. I can hear the roll of his tongue, but I wonder whether there is any historical basis for this assertion?

No, but this is a verbal representation of the war cry of the Macedonians going into battle.
