How old do you think he would have been?
Do you think Alexander would have actually returned to Macedonia? I think it was Renault who said he wanted to stay in Babylon and establish there.

Eleni

Re: Do you think Alexander would have returned?
Greetings Eleni,
I would suspect that, if Alexander returned to Makedon at all, it would probably have been for a "state visit" only... I don't feel there was any intention of going back, due to the size of the empire he was building and possible personal reasons. Others may feel differently.

Sikander

Re: Do you think Alexander would have returned?
Hi Eleni,I could only really see Alexander returning to Macedonia, as Sikander said, for state visit reasons. Unless there was a more pragmatic reason to do so, such as, launch an invasion of the west? That arguement depends, of course, on whether you subscribe to the view that Alexander was planning further campaigns in Italy, North Africa, the Balkans etc. That is one of the (many) 'what if's' surronding him!regards Kit.

Dear Eleni
you remember one indy philosopher who took skin from an animal and when he put his foot at the edge of the skin it started to rumble the skin but when he stepped in the middle of the skin it didn't move.Meaning that if he wanted to rule he had to stay in the middle of the empire Babylon. And of course he wouldn't start a campaign in the west.West wasn't neither rich neither a historical place.
