Congrats on the showcase

Post by Linda »

Thanks to everyone for putting their excerpts up - it is very interesting to read them - to see the differences. I look forward to reading final works - published or not!I liked the tension and suggestion of devious plots in Karen's one. Marcus, I am pleased to see you got some sex in, even by implication. Aengus - I enjoyed this "backstory" very much, as I did Scott's. K.A.Solo (great name)...I don't normally like this sort of thing, but this would make a great tv serial.Good luck all - you have my admiration..

What? Did Marcus' excerpt have sex in it? Marcus? I didn't notice at all.(Oh yes, but I'm Dutch. You have to be very, very explicit before we even come recognize something as sex. Thanks for the warning. I will re-read the excerpt carefully. If 'sex' really is implied, I will delete the paragraph right away.Regards -

Sex? In my novel? No way, sir...I'm far too much of a prude to write about anything as distasteful as... that sort of thing! :-)All the best (and just off to write something more titillating for Linda...)Marcus

Absolutely, Yiannis. We can't deal with any unpleasantness... still, so long as they don't do it in the street and frighten the horses, as Mrs Campbell said...

Yes, definitely, although you'll have to allow for the English-speakers not being able to praise it sufficiently !If anyone else has got, or knows of, a non-English script, we'd be pleased to have it becuase this should be a resource and showcase for all controbutors, and it would be nice to move away from just English-language.So, please send your input in.Best regardsSusan

Wow, I'm practically salivating at the thought of all this new Alexander (and related) fiction coming up in the future. Please keep us updated on how all your works are progressing. Thank you, Nick, for posting these samples, and so quickly!! Karen, I actually felt a knot tighten in my stomach at the thought that Philip would treat our beloved Alexander in such an appalling manner. Well done.I particularly like the idea of Alexander alive once again in the 21st Century, trying to fit in just like everyone else, and dodging bullets in a war zone. It's part of his 'history' that will be completely new to us all. Hey, K.A. Solo, is that your real name or, by any chance, are you paying homage to my favorite action figure! ;)

All right then, thanks Susan for answer. I will translate some fragment of text and send it to Nick. It will be nice to see myself in that showcase.Maciek

Hi Jay, and thanks.
It's been a long time since I took the pen name
of K. A. Solo, so I don't really remember all the
details. I too have some Han Solo action
figures, though Wolverine is rapidly threatening
to overtaken on the shelf!

Yes, this is a great showcase and I have read every submitted preview. Fantastic lot of excerpts and I can hardly wait til more are posted. I may even gather up courage to tackle the project too. When I read the first line of one excerpt I came to understand why I have been receiving that thought. Thanks for helping in the world of trasmission and reception in e.s.p. I could not understand why that thought had been coming to me until today. Now I understand. "Under arrest?" Are you kidding?"Quoi? Moi?"I have been there twice. I felt more akin to Marie Antoinette then, I will admit. April Fools Day pranks! Karen, what are you up to?Thanks and good look to all, and hopefully, Markie will get his in soon too. I can hardly wait!
