Alexander defeats Thracian tribe

Post by Sandra »

Hello! I am sorry if this has been discused, but I can't find by searching forum. I would like to know- what will be the best source for this event (at the age of 16, when he was left as regent) (best of all- ancient) Plutarch mentioned it very shortly (at least in my translation (Latvian)). Thank you, Companions!

Of the top of my head I think that may be the only source, they were called the Maedoi and he founded a settlement Alexandropolis to celebrate the victory, something which may not have endeared him to his father. Plutarch is the source for most of the childhood stories though based on other authors now lost, such as Marsyas and Onesikritos.
