should we continue to call the rank and file of the phalanx pezhetairoi or is this merely another example of the modern desire for the illusion of precision?

Apropos of the post on pezhetairoi which has now run in true Joycean style from the original topic to the riccocco intricacies of eary Macedonian history!

If I answer "yes", am I saying that (a) I want to continue calling them pezhetairoi, or (b) that I agree that to call them so is just another example of the modern desire for the illusion of precision (or whatever it was you said)?
