Clietus,Philip Scenario.

Post by kenny »

Companions We all know the episode with Clietus been killed.I have many times wondered if Philip had been more nimble and steady on his feel and closer to Alexander on his wedding night. Im pretty sure Alexander could have been the evenings Clietus with Phgilip killing Alexander he had actually drawn his sword. And I am more than sure the day after he would have felt just the same maybe worse than Alexander did for spearing Clietus. These incidents bring the lines from Matrix Reloaded to mind. "Cause and effect"The cause was a alcohol induced argument between 2 close parties on both occasion and the effect on both cases could and on one case was death.
On reflection it the Philip incident shows strong political responsibilities that he woul stand by Attalus and chastise Alexander.Or on the second Philip was tired of Alexander and didnt love him at all. As how would any father let someone talk to his son how Atalus talked to Alexander.Kenny

interesting give the violence of the macedonians of that time , but if philip wanted him dead alexander would have been dead! Philip ruled with an iron fist
and no one posing a threat to his throne would have lived. i think both were a little tipsey at the time, however he did kick him out after that!george
