Hasn't this question been asked at least a dozen times here in the past? There must be some information on the thread still, or somewhere on pothos.

Yes, this does seem to arise quite often. If you go to the bottom of the forum you'll see a place where you can 'search forum'. Put 'lasting contributions' into the box and then click the search button. You'll find a thread titled 'lasting contributions' that has the last group of posts on this subject. Hope that helps.

Greatest military strategies; *Philip* & Alexander's innovation of weaponry, Alexander's brilliance in tactics, able to adapted quickly in the battlefield, fought in every type of terrain in the known world including the sea around Tyre, and contrary to the mistaken belief of some peoples, Alexander never lost a (over fifty) battle. And the companion calvary was the best the world has and will ever see.
Logistics; Supply lines were considered very important and truly amazing for ancient times which consist of *primitive* compared to the present. Alexander's enthusiasm to create new mints for a unified currency (gold, silver, and bronze) throughout the known world which was a first and vigorously continued by Alexander's generals for at least two centuries after his death. There were numerous leaders (Greek including Athena, Persian, Roman, and etc.) in which all individuals from any dynasty pale compared to the trading of Alexanders. Just think twenty three hundred year old coins continue to be a huge money market of today.
Now what I've barely mentioned hardly scratches the surface to your question. There are many good books and information on this subject so if you just want to come to this forum with a lazy statement, "I've read already some articles about him". Then I suggest you make more time for your studies you'll find it very rewarding.
