I don't know why it was widely believed among Iraians that mirror was invented by Alexander or at least he introduced it to Iran, the famous eleventh century Persian poet Nizami Ganvaji says that during one of battles between Persians and Macedonians (probably Gaugamela), Alexander ordered Macedonians to polish their weapons and use them as mirrors for confusing Persians!

Hi,The mirror thing is very interesting but I have read that it was very dusty at Gaugamela. I doubt if they would have much reflective capacity.By the way, happy new year. kyra
