Temple of Jiroft

Post by Cyrus »

AS you probably know, archaeologists have recently found a wonderful Ziggurat (or Temple) in Jiroft which is as old as the Egyptian Pyramids but almost three times larger than the largest pyramid. I read somewhere that the only thing that we know about ancient Jiroft is that Alexander met his admiral there and mentioned a great temple in this city, is this the same temple?

If the site shown on the map at http://www.laputanlogic.com/articles/20 ... -0001.html is correct, Jiroft seems to be a bit too far to the north. Probably, the excavations will soon tell us more.Jona
