I can only answer the first question: "what made Alexander keep on conquering the world?"I guess the deepest cause was that he was king of the type of pristine state his father had created. Macedonia had been an archaic society, in which aristocrats dominated, and where a king was nothing than the first among equals. After he had added the mines of Amphipolis to his personal income, Philip became a real king, more powerful than any other aristocrat. Yet, he still encountered opposition and needed to share his wealth. Conquest was necessary to obtain booty to give to the other aristocrats. If Philip stopped conquering, they would revolt. Therefore, Philip continued, and so did his son.Jona

atg was born to conquer. his father was a famous fighter and atg wanted to be better than his father. what was there to go home too? he lived to fight it was his adrenilin;it was the only thing that made him feel alive. his men loved him,and atg loved adoration. he could only go on; sometimes i think he was not concerned about the future of his country as much as his own legend, and his has a legend. remember his mother was a pain and always had a plan or problem to address to atg, so that wouldn't be a reason to run home. antipater, atg, trusted as much as possible when you're on the road fighting for your life. i believe he had not found home yet; he was always looking towards the gods and knew he would die by the sword, at least that was his hope. what really happened? i wish i knew, i would like to think that he drank bad water and just went onto the heavens as a star but...if wishes were horses, we'd all be riding. tina rollsrite
