Jona's New Book Has Been Released!

Post by nick »

Hi Companions ---Today I received a free (!) copy by mail from Jona Lendering with one of the first copies of his new book "Alexander the Grote - De Ondergang van het Perzische Rijk" (in Dutch; 'Alexander the Great - The Demise of the Persian Empire'). I am extremely grateful to Jona for this nice gesture.Jona's book was published in Amsterdam, apparently a few days prior to the announced release date of 15th October. It's a 404 page paperback in an attractive orange-colored cover with reproduction of a Persian painting. In his summary of recommended literature Jona also recommends pothos.org as a website with "a friendly Forum and a pretty high level of discussion".For those able to read Dutch (or willing to learn Dutch?) here's the link to bol.com:http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP. ... OOKRegards ---NickP.S. Apologies to everyone who has posted on the former thread: Susan, Andrew, Kenny. I think Jona deserves a celebration! (Dear Andrew, your emails didn't reach me - please use N.Welman at fontys.nl and I will do my very best to answer them.)

Congratulations, Jona, on your book being published. Wish I could read Dutch, but I will have to settle for a translation. When it is in English, I will certainly be happy to read it, because in the meantime, I enjoy your Livius site.Good luck!Jan
