Somewhat OT: LiveJournal

Post by Jeanne »

This is in no way meant to be a competition for the forum. ;> But I thought I'd mention that I've created a Live Journal for various uses, ranging from questions regarding my websites to general historical discussion (some of which may prove to have little to do with Alexander) -- should anyone else here be members of the Live Journal community, or keep track of journals and blogs. Hi Jeanne,I like the idea of a livejournal and think that the more discussions the better. How and where does one sign into it? Or is it open to all without punity?

Hi Jeanne,I have visited the LiveJournal site and see that it does require a username and password.I do not want to frighten you, but when USAIR used my former phone number as their own, it cost them dearly with two air tragedies. I notice that you too are having the luck to have two numbers associated with me as they have been numbers I have had also in the past, and I do not wish you anything but good luck.I am sorry to have to use this means to tell you as I am certain that if I tried to call you, I would have difficulty.I will try to comment upon your livejournal discussion if I can access it.Jan

LOL! What a thing to have for a phone number. 8}Anyway, it's pretty easy to sign up for an LJ account. You just go to the main LJ page, and follow the directions to register. Didn't require anything more than basic information, then you get the fun of setting up the account. I'm a tech-head, sorta, so I had a good time, but you can make the journal simpler if you like.I really like the "Friends" option as it lets you conveniently keep track of other discussions and communities that may interest one. I noticed that there are a couple that deal with ATG fiction, although it seems as much geared to the film and fiction-writing as discussion of fiction that's been written. Not a problem, mind, just an observation. There isn't, so far as I can tell, a journal community devoted to ATG *history*, and given that Pothos kinda serves as that, I wasn't sure if I wanted to create one.Jeanne

Hi Dr.JR-Z,I finally got through to the LJ because of Linda Ann's reminder. I left my calling card and I noticed that you posted it as well. Thanks, and after reading all the others, I realized that I used too much space. It is interesting and fun. Still waters run deep.I could hardly believe that you made me remember how rough I was on poor Rita York! But at least, my girls were winners! I made certain of that! Thanks a lot! I will return to check in and try to get the hang of it. Good luck!Jan
