The latest results obtained in this yearGÇÖs archaeological excavations and archeastronomic measurements, which were presented at the Youth Cultural Centre Planetary yesterday, show that the three-year research has given important results, say archaeologist Jovica Stankovski of Kumanovo and astronomer Gjore Cenev. According to them, Kokino deserves to be protected as an area and attract archaeologists, mathematicians and astronomers throughout the world to come and confirm the results by Macedonian teams.
The research teams have found an enormous quantity of archaeological material (around 1000 kg. on 100 square meters), pottery, an axe moulding cast, which they see as atypical for such high mountainous areas (1013 meters above the sea level) and a confirmation the there was life here in 2000 B.C.
