Post by lazar »

Dear All,
I would want to inform you that one more book from the RARE Macedonian Authors is released about ATG and His Descendants.
About all of this and much more astonishing evidence of the ancient-Macedonian origin of todayGÇÖs Macedonian nation read in the book GÇ£THE DESCENDANTS OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT OF MACEDONGÇ¥. The translation and editing of the book was carried out by two translators: Marijan Galevski from Sydney, and Dr. Michael Seraphinoff from USA whose mother tongue is English. The translation already received excellent reviews by experts in English language. The book has 250 pages (A5 format), and it is printed with a luxurious cover in full color. For more information please contact the author Aleksandar Donski on his email address: adonski@mt.net.mkBest Regards to all,

If I could bet 2 cents,I'd bet that it's just another book propagandazing FYROMacedonian ultranationalistic theories and it's only value is the paper it's printed on.Actually as the President of FYROM, Mr Gligorov has said "We have no connection to the ancient Macedonians, we're Slavs who came to the region in the 6th Century AD". He should know best...

Well sir
You could bet even 1 mil dollars, but if you are unbiased in your view of History of ATG, you should first buy that book, read it and then EVALUATE IT.
Evaluation without reading it is WORTH NOTHING.
Actually it is propagandist view of evaluating something without reading it.

Lazar

Stavre, There is no point in arguing, why you underestimate Macedonian Authors. You think that they can not be UNBIASED? Or, only Greek Authors can be UNBIASED, ha? If that is your opinion, that is so selfish and childish of you my dear friend. Also very unprofessional attitude. Best Regards,
Lazar

The name is Stavros. Lazarus. the only thing childish is your response. of course i underestimate history re-written and dont expect nothing but criticism. if you can criticise history and ancient texts then we can certainly critcise something printed yesterday. good luck, stavros

Why not discuss only non Greek non Slavic Fyrom authors ? That way there would be a standard of objectivity. The vast majority of historians agree that the MACEDONE were a Doric Greek tribe."Modern scholarship, after many generations of argument, now almost unanimously recognizes them as Greeks, a branch of the Dorians and "Northwest Greeks" who, after long residence in the north Pindus region, migrated eastward. The Macedonian language has not survived in any written text, but the names of individuals, places, gods, months and the like suggest strongly that it was a Greek dialect. Macedonians institutes, both secular and religious, had marked Hellenic characteristics, and legends identify or link the people with the Dorians." John V.A. Fine, "The Ancient Greeks a Critical History", Harvard University Press, Massachusetts, 1983 Yes there are some exception like Eugene Borza who portray a different view however even Borza reluctantly agrees with the general conclusion in his words
From the Book Makedonika
pp 149-58 Ethnicity and Cultural Policy at Alexander's Court
by Eugene Borza
First , the matter of the Hellenic origins of the Macedonians:Nicholas Hammond's general conclusion that the origin of the Macedonians lies in the pool of proto-Hellenic speakers who migrated out of the Pindus mountains during the Iron Age is acceptable.

you underestimate Macedonian Authors. You think that they can not be UNBIASED True some FYROM Authors are unbiased13)"The northern periphery of Greek world, inhabited with ancient Macedonians and other peoples and tribes, wasn't developed for democracy as the most developed social system at that time"
Mikulcic,Ivan "Ancient towns in the Republic of Macedonia",Skopje,1999,pp.9 So are some Fyrom Govt Leaders
15. "We are Macedonians but we are Slav Macedonians. That's who we are! We have no connection to Alexander the Greek and his Macedonia. The ancient Macedonians no longer exist, they had disappeared from history long time ago. Our ancestors came here in the 5th and 6th century (AD)."
[FYROM'S President Mr. Kiro Gligorov, Toronto Star newspaper, March 15, 1992]13. "We are not related to the northern Greeks who produced leaders like Philip and Alexander the Great. We are a Slav people and our language is closely related to Bulgarian."
"There is some confusion about the identity of the people of this country."[FYROM's Ambassador to Canada, Gyordan Veselinov in an interview with the Ottawa Citizen, 24 February
