From Alexander-the-great.co.uk22th October 2003: Angelina confused
It would appear that Angelina Jolie is a little confused about the time lines in her new movie Alexander. Jolie is playing Alexander The GreatGÇÖs mother, Olympias, in the forthcoming Oliver Stone epic. But Jolie thinks the Greek conqueror, played by Colin Farrell, died aged 19; he was actually 33. But the 28-year-old actress, responding to criticism that she is too young to play the mother of 27-year-old Farrell, said: "I play Alexander's mother when he's seven and I age through the movie, though he was quite young when he died, about 19. So it's not like his mother was that old by the end. She's mid-30s." Frightening! *lol*

It is shameful, but I think you could stump Ms.
Jolie by asking her many things about Alexander
or even about modern events, like what year did
World War II start or end?

Re: Shameful!
Not such a surprise! But you'd think in developing the role she'd have put in some time studying the subject. Olympias will be rolling in her grave!
Re: Shameful!
...we can't blame Ms. Jolie for her ingnorance, because they hide information like that in (u guessed it) "BOOKS"

Re: Shameful!
I am surprised that Robin Lane Fox, who has been consulting on the film from the start, hasn't given them at least a brief history lesson, though.Having said that, I read a quote which said that "Robin *Lee* Fox" was their consultant... so maybe it's a different guy who doesn't know anything himself?
(Oliver Stone seemed to be more impressed that RLF wrote a book on Alexander when he was 26, than about any actual scholarship enshrined in said book.)All the bestMarcus
