First production still from 'Alexander'

Post by rebecca »

Just in case some of you haven't seen it yet, I would urge you to pay a visit to the Alexander Rumor Control website ( http://www.alexander-rc.com ), where what I believe is the first actual production photo from Oliver Stone's film has been posted. It's of Colin Farrell, Jared Leto, and Elliot Cowan (Young Ptolemy) on horseback, and Farrell's hair is not only very, very blond, but decidedly rather...tall, as well.:-)
Enjoy!

Reminds me of a surfer from the Gold Coast, (thats Queensland Australia) for those who may never of heard of the Gold Coast!I'm not real impressed with the costumes, I was always under the impression the cloaks worn by the Companions were a sandy brown! That off white ,hmmm, just can't take to it.:(
just my thoughts.Cheers!

Oh gawds. Oliver Stone has how many high-priced hairstylists? If I got a peroxide job like that I'd demand they re-dye it AND give me money back! How hard is it to make a guy look natural?Everyone looks too clean, too, but then Hollywood always does that. You who know your actors, which is Ptolemy, which is Hephaistion?L&P,

Anyone know how accurate that helmut is? I know he had two white plumes, (one on each side) at Granicus, but wasn't aware of any such description for Guagamela. The helmut worn at Granicus was likely destroyed completely after being struck by some Persian. Yours Nick C.

Gee, Oliver Stone must have cast the broom in our custodial closet for a starring role, well, above Alexander :-) I'm ready for my closeup Mr. DeMille! LOL...

Actually, I think the Companions had purple cloaks (established from traces of dye on the Sidon sarcophagus). All the bestMarcus

Hello Karen,
Regarding who's who in the first photo -- the gentleman on the left with the Art Garfunkel-esque hair is Elliot Cowan as Ptolemy, and the one on the right with the longer dark hair is Jared Leto as Hephaistion.
Hair, it seems, will be a major
factor in Stone's film.:-)

Heey, did anyone notice something that had me very plesently suprised;in the photo of Alexander in battle he has two large white feathers on his helmet-a detail stated in Plutarch.I'm very happy that they're going for(by the looks of it)maximum accuracy!
