Greetings Andrew,
I would appreciate it. If it strays too far from Alexander, you can email me at philoalexandros@hotmail.com just to save space on the archives- by the time this horse article is done, I will be afraid to look at how much space it will require. And we still have book reviews to get up, I think. The person putting those on-line told me there should be some spare time coming up for getting that done, also...
Regards,

Andy, you cant resist a public brawl can you. I agree the movie was very bad bad but Limeys? come on are'nt we above name calling. I know you yourself have been a victim of prejudice and don't like it. Dave (non limey). Oh and Karen I have never heard any of my fellow Aussies call the English Limeys, although I have heard plenty of people call us colonials (which is'nt insulting considering where we live and where the English live). As far as we can tell all the Smart English got out and settled in the sunshine with sandy beaches with room to move. Go to any beach in Sydeny and you will find a couple of hundred English back packers lamenting their need to go home.Bye for now.

It will be fiction at its finest. I hope the battle scenes are on the par with the Lord of the Rings. Just take it for what it's worth.GA Hauser

Hello Marcus and Dave, when I use the word limey by no means I use it as a derogatory remark, some of my subordinate's in the military were British and they had no problem with the word same with my very close friends, when I speak of a native or inhabitant of Australia I call them Aussie, when I speak of a person from Canada I call them a Canook and so on with no pun intended. I've seen the word Slav used often maybe adjectives are more acceptable so feel free to call me anything just don't call my late for dinner, get use to me for I have with all of you.I wish you all the very best

Yep, fair enough, Andrew. Sorry, I was a little put out by 'limey', although generally I don't object to the term - I've been called worse things... constantly am :-).All the bestMarcus

Sorry Dave, I never said I'd heard alot of Aussies call us Limeys! I must have just heard some who had watched too much U.S television!?Just out of interest; where does the term 'Pom' (or is it spelt Pomme?) come from? I've always wondered!regardsKit

Maybe your subordinates didn't have a choice but to allow you to call them anything you wanted. What if one of them objected & took it over your head? Doesn't your American law say the perception of the one being called a slang term is what matters, esp. if there's imbalance of power? I don't know if saying "This is just me- get use to it" would work in a court case LOL It seems to me Freedom of Speech doesn't mean the freedom to not be responsible to respect others

pommy
noun (Derogatory) 1. an English person. --adjective 2. English. Also, Pommy, Pom, pom. [probably from pomegranate, rhyming slang for `immigrant'. Definitely not from the purported acronym POME, supposedly standing for Prisoner Of Mother England]Macquarie Dictionary. We aussies do like a bit of crytic rhyming slang. Not quite so much as you "pommies" though. My trouble and strife and the tin lids are bit butcher hook so I as ta go get on me bowl of fruit and go darwn ta the ospital.Lets leave the name calling to the Greeks and Macedonians.

Message:John, I guess you have an active imagination which is adept at making interesting analogies. Most of Bowie's music is kinda crappy, but I love Ziggy Stardust big time. It's one of my all time favorite albums. I won a karaoke contest doing "Rock-n-Roll Suicide" a couple of months back. I also liked his soundtrack to "Catpeople". Though I've been avoiding the gay bashing thing, I will admit, Bowie's gayness is creepy! My philosophy is the more gay men there are the better my chances are with finding a single female...unfortunately, the gay thing is just as popular with women as it is with the guys, so I guess it all balances out. Just for the record, I can't stand lesbians...repulsive in the extreme! later NickSo, with all due respect, who is Perspective? Who is But? Who is Matter? And who cares!

Hello Nick, I was trying to find the identity of "perspective" for this person is a cowered and in a ten pace dual this person will turn shoot anyone in the back this tactic worked before when I flushed out Susan Holmes for a ridicules deletion and I used Nick W as bait, in which I might add, he was a very good sport towards my scheme and I thank you for being a good sport unless one of your names you use is perspective then I have a issue with you on this post, anyway no big deal, thanks again.
