Actually, I'm willing to go one further:This very painting of Alexander on Philip's tomb was actually looked upon (and approved) by Alexander himself.Alexander had about a year and a half to complete the tomb after Philip died and before he left to cross the Hellespont on his expedition against Persia.... Just don't ask about the pink dress. It's NOT a pink dress; it's a royal purple cloak that faded over 2,300-odd years.John

The photos are taken from the book "Vergina: The Royal Tombs and the Ancient City" by Manolis Andronicos, which is still available for purchase, I believe.

Right. It's a big red book, filled with nice photos. I got mine from a used bookstore. I've never seen it in a new bookstore.John
