Wow. I completely missed this, too.
I will have to have a look. Is it any good?

Nah. There are a few clips on YouTube full of scantily clad maidens, an Olympias straight from the Angelina Jolie school of accents, and what seems like an improbable plot of Alexander getting caught up in a conspiracy to murder Philip and being accused of being involved while trying to defend Philip.

Still, might be worth having a look ...

This is pretty old. It was made and then never released until, apparently, recently. I looked in vain for a way to get it not long after it came out. I figured it would be quite bad, from what I could see. The fact Sam Heughan is in it is no doubt why it ever saw the light of day.

I have to admit to watching the movie and being completely bemused by it. It did have its own interesting moments though, such as a secret romance between Hephaestion and Cleopatra and Alexander’s love interest mimicking Ursula Andress’ legendary emergence from the sea in Dr. No. There is also a fight scene between Alexander and Hephaestion that was rather engaging.
