Retracing Alexander's Route
For the travellers in this group: if there's anyone who is interested in retracing sections of Alexander's route and is looking for a travel companion, message me privately.

Re: Retracing Alexander's Route
it's not as Michael-Wood-grandiose as it sounds - large sections of the route are out of bounds due to political instability. Sadly, that includes all of Iran: I had found a fantastic & very affordable way to trace the entire route - private car with driver / guide, self-determined itinerary - but I pulled out. Travelling in Iran seems pretty safe, the risk is crossing the border. Iran's hostage diplomacy makes that a game of russian roulette for anyone with a US or European passport
