What was Alexander's last name? Is it even known by the world today?

After the Greek fashion he would have used the patronymic 'Philipou' the son of Philip; the ancient Greeks had no surname system.

Moreover the Greeks would have included in the "surname" the place of ones origin.
So he'd be: Alexander, son of Philip from Macedonia ...Yiannis

Thanks for that, as it helps me to understand why I named my dog Clancy of Clearwater. I had no idea that it could have had anything to do with the Greeks until now. And here the only person who has ever made me like lamb is a Greek from the Broken Glass restaurant in Clearwater! What a connection.
