Don't you just love that comment? I think it appropriate for a mother who hangs on too closely. Meaning that she is in charge of his life forever, from her point of view, and that he realizes it. Haven't you ever had the mother who thought you owed her for your birthright?

I'M GLAD YOU LIKE THAT ONE THALESTRIS. IT'S ALSO ONE OF MY FAVORITE LINES FROM ATG.I HAVEN'T HIT THE BOOKS LATELY BUT I BELIEVE I READ IT IN ARRIAN. ALTHOUGH HE DID LOVE HIS MOTHER VERY MUCH, SHE DID COMPLAIN TO HIM ALOT IN HER LETTERS TO HIM. COULD YOU IMAGINE IF SHE HAD A CELL PHONE OR E-MAIL! I'LL SEE YOU SUNDAY WITH THE VIDEO. ALL THE BEST!

She was one of those overbearing mothers who just couldn't bear to cut the apron strings. Some say he stayed away so long just to escape her constant meddling in his affairs. I love the 'rent' statement. I've read it in a couple of books so you'll be sure to find it if you look.
