Now safely back from Turkey - the shock of going from around 37 degrees to less than 20 was almost too much for me! - I have now updated my Facebook album of Alexander pictures. There are now some pics from Aspendos, Phaselis, Termessos, Ephesus and Troy ... as well as picture taken as I was crossing the Hellespont, where I did, of course, pour a libation ...
(Paralus - I'll send you a couple of Gallipoli photos separately.)
Hi, Marcus, I would love to be able to look at your pics but as I don't have a Facebook account I don't seem to be able to access them (unless I'm being technologically challenged). Any chance of making some of them publically available, or reposting somewhere else?

Ἐπὶ τοὺς πατέρας, ὦ κακαὶ κεφαλαί, τοὺς μετὰ Φιλίππου καὶ Ἀλεξάνδρου τὰ ὅλα κατειργασμένους;
Wicked men, you sin against your fathers, who conquered the whole world under Philip and Alexander.

Hi Alexias, I thought that the album was open for anyone to view, but perhaps it isn't.
Apparently there's a problem with FB at the moment and I can't log on. When I am able to again I shall see if I can sort out the permissions and will be in touch!

Well, I've just checked, and anyone should be able to view them. Perhaps it was to do with whatever problem I had logging on a few minutes ago?
BTW, I got hold of my replica of the Pergamum Head, at Ephesus. They came in different sizes (the largest being absolute life-size - decent price, but impossible to carry around and the shipping cost to the UK would have been silly), and there was a definite difference in quality - they got better as they got larger. I'm pretty happy with the one I got, although the hair is rather more bouffant than the actual Pergamum Head. (I also made sure I got one with the nose still broken, not wanting a 'reconstructed' one.)

Fabulous. Definitely going to have to get one to complete my collection. I'll try the pictures later.
Hi Marcus, Great photos. Especially like the pics of Persepolis and tomb of Cyrus, statue of ATG, and Hellespont. Am seeing these through Android phone. Thus, very brief statements.
I always feel a little stalkerish whenever I view someone's Facebook photos without them knowing (yes, even when they post a link to said photos in a public forum), so this is just to say that 1) I've looked at your photos (phew! I feel a lot less stalkerish now) and 2) what amazing photos they were! Did you visit all these places as a tour, or are the photos from a number of separate journeys?

Hi Neneh,
All visited at different times - if only I had had the money to do it all in one go!
