"Treasures from Afghanistan" at the British Museum

Post by marcus »

Now, this is basically the same exhibition that our US Pothosians were (hopefully) able to see a year or so ago, but it has finally opened at the British Museum for the benefit of us Brits.

FANTASTIC!

Of most interest to Pothos, of course, are the finds from Ai Khanum, although in some respects they are not the best in the exhibition. There are some lovely pieces, though. The exhibition catalogueis excellent (although you might get it cheaper from Amazon).

I really can't recommend it highly enough. :D

Just waiting for April, now, and the Aegae exhibition in Oxford ... 8)

The tyranny of distance!

I'm not certain these exhibitions were what Blainey had in mind though.
