Mieza Academy Attendees

Who specifically attended Mieza Academy with Alexander? Considering the great age disparity between Alexander and Krateros and Ptolemaios, would they have attended Aristotle's school, too? Or would only the peers closest in age attended (i.e. Hephaistion, Harpolas, Marsyas, Seleukos, and possibly the somatophylax, Lysimakkos). I'd like to know who was schooled by Aristotle along with Alexander. AND, were their body servants permitted to listen along?

Unfortunately, we don't know exactly who attended Mieza with Alexander. But you are probably right that the older 'boys' are unlikely to have been there (Ptolemy, Krateros).If I recall correctly, we do know that Hephaistion and Aristotle kept up a correspondence, which would almost certainly suggest that he was there (and it has always been assumed that he was) and others of Alexander's age, such as Seleukos, are unlikely *not* to have been there.Heckel makes some reasonable assumptions, I think, in "The Marshals...", about who was and wasn't there; but we can only make assumptions.All the bestMarcus

I must see that 4 hour video to see who attended Alexander in Mieza; in exchange I will share with you the video series "In The Footsteps of Alexander" if you do not already have it!
