On the programe today,There was a real test totaly Alexander. The test was set in India. The Contestants had a boat moored to a jetty with a long Rope. Halfway along the Rope was a great big not. The Clue was something like unravel the not to let the boat free remember Alexander The Great.

Anyway the two teams spent over an hour untying the not to reaveal it was only one long pieceof rope. It was still connected so the recalled the Alexander clue, Dug out a knife fron the boats tool box and cut the Rope.

I felt intelligent knowing the answer to the riddle, only because I read Alexander.

Way to go Kenny! You may conquer the world yet.

Listen, I know we've had our differences in the past, but I just want to say you've come leaps and bounds in your approach to the study of Alexander. A lot more questioning of the man and his times. Well done! Doesn't mean we can't still admire the man.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers!

Maybe not heaps and bounds I still think of Alexander as i did in the beggining. I just try to look outside the sources. Here and there logic and reason. I wait for Alexanders body as a Christian waits for JC.

But I dont see Alexander through misty mythological romantic glasses. I will call it as I see it. and not dismiss anything under the excuse that Alexander was too squeeky clean etc and noble.

Cool! I still haven't watched "The Search" at all - too many other things to do. My Sunday night TV is pretty much limited to "Time Team", now that the new series has started. But it's good to know that "The Search" has managed to bring in Alexander.

Cheers

The idea of the Knot is very clever with many thungs. One can try be extravagant and clever. To try out do others and indeed untie the knott. Its like many things in life I get instructions with whatever the task. IE A recipe. Alas I will try cut out the fiddly stuff and be more direct. Alexander didnt mess about and just salashed the Knott job Done.

A christmas ago I watched Jamie Oliver making a stuffing for a Turkey. He used fruits. Bacon cooked this and that off. I thought bollox. Boughts a packet of paxo, Mixed in some fruit jam for sweetness and wrapped it in a neat loaf tin in Streaky bacon. Fair to say my dinners could tell no difference. If a slash of a Sword Cuts out messing about with the chance of failing to undo the knot then so be it.

I guess Alexanders wisdom is pretty much up there with that Solomon boy.
