Jesus Miracles

Post by kennyxx »

Porthonians

On BBC tv we got a series covering the so called Miracles of Jesus. This week they looked at the 5000 that got fed with a feww loaves and some bread. I have always been sceptical with religious or folk law miracles. But with that miracle I kinda likened it to what cou;ld be interpreted as an Alexander miracle. Well not a miracle but an incident.

We know how leaders and charismatic people can and do inspire. I relate to the episode in the Makran Fact or Fiction. Where the army was dyibng of thirst and a soldier collected some water for Alexander. Alexanders grand gesture was to poor it away. Upon seeing this apparently it so inspired the men that they all felt they had had a drink.

Kinday similar to a guy feeding 5000 with relatively little. Then the pragarame talked about Jesus calming the Storm and what do you know we have reports that Alexander calmed the coastal storms so he could pass. Then the snakes guiding The Expedition to Siwah. Upon examination all kinds of spin can be spread around by groups and miracles but bottom line thats maybe all they are made up fantasy.

Hi Kenny,

Thanks to Calllishtenes amazing imagination Alexander was able to seem greater than real life- keeping the tide at bay in Pamphlya, making a fountain flow again at Didyma- and of course receiving an answer from Zeus at Siwa along with many more fantastic events along the way.

I think that the bible has a similar style in its turning natural phenomenon into signs from the great beyond but who is copying who?
