Those are really beautiful photographs of the actual sarcophagus. It'll be interesting to see the finished work on the plaque and how well it compares, although if the hunt scene is anything to go by it will be difficult to tell them apart. :-)Best regards,Amyntoros

Yeah, they've certainly made a great reproduction of the Alexander Sarcophagus hunt scene and I guess they'll do the same with the battle scene (which I LOVE). I am already looking forward in OWNING IT - I spectacular sculpture is worth a lot. Let's compare - if this single plate is $5300 can a price be set for the entire Alexander Sarcopagus in Istnbul? I wonder waht would Christie's auction it if they had it instead of the museum ? :) Certainly hundreds of times more then the $5300 plate :)

Now, if only I had an extra $6000. kicking around...and a place to put it (the sarcophagus!)
