Greetings---I was doing a spring cleaning of my hard disk when I found a dusty old jpeg file of the Alexander mosaic from Pompeii---you know, profile, large eye with curly lash that winks, Olympic sideburns, about to drive a long pike to Darius. Instead of deleting it I digitally doctored it instead: isolated Alexander and dropped out all background detail, filled in missing ones, like parts of the sarissa and also gave him a thigh. I cloned a patch from his cheek and spread it where his thigh should be. Thank you Adobe Photoshop. I want reviews of my restorative skills. I printed out a copy matchbox size and pasted it on a matchbox and typed in a caption on the flipside that goes something like "if history is just a series of biographies of famous people, then Alexander is the most famous of them all because he is the most ancient historical figure about whom discourse still abound about his battles, his politics, his sexual orientation, the price of his horse, the age of his dog, the cause of his death." Or something to that effect. Times Roman, 6 points. Who wants one for Christmas? I'll have to take out the matches tho (don't want trouble with the fedex people re combustible content etc). And since Christmas is still nine months away, how can I share my sexy Alexander mosaic with my fellow Alexandrophiles in the Forum?

Re: Digitally Remastered Alexander Mosaic
Been out of it for a while---it's about 150kb jpeg. I send it as an attachment?
Re: Digitally Remastered Alexander Mosaic
I would be very interested to see your remastered version! Every time I look at the illustration of the mosaic, I long to wonder how it would look if it weren't so damaged.
