No, Andrew, you won't make an enemy out of me for agreeing with Kenny. (I'm assuming here you are talking about his posts on Alexander and not his insulting ones to members.) His passion for Alexander is commendable as long as he channels his emotions in the right direction and understands that other people have the right to feel differently and the right to express themselves also - without being persecuted.Ah, enough of my opinions. I never expected to spend the whole morning on the forum. Time to take a break and then maybe we can all get back to Alexander!:-)Best regards,Amyntoros

We act on the requests we receive. I *can* say that, in the many years we have moderated, I have never felt any of the moderators deleted anything unncessarily or frivolously, despite accusations of same. What we *try* to do is moderate with a sensitivity to the rights of *all* members to respect and dignity as people. In looking over the past few weeks postings, I am beginning to feel it is time to remind members that debate, disagreement and discussion can and should take place without personal insults or derogatory remarks. We are here to argue *ideas*, *not* attack on a personal level, which *includes* attacking or disrespecting a persons Being, orientation, ethnicty, race, age, gender or what have you. Regards,
Sikander

As you know I feel for Alexander,,, Where somebody to lable my son a s a monster or a tyrant for a few misdemeaners then I would be on the case.Where my son constantly been a monster then I wouldnt have acase and would have to take him to one side. But there is one thing I am certain were Alexander not to have done what he did,,, Then the detractors would have nothing to talk about.Good Will Hunting Andrew.

Re: The forum at Pothos
Hi Linda Ann,
Sorry about the internal difficulties posted here. Hope it all works out. I appreciated the reference to Hanson as it caused me to read the article in the Great Commanders magazine. I like the illustrations in the magazine but have put it back into my files. I am still only halfway through Steve Pressfield's book War of Virtues, and several other bio's, because from time to time I like to escape to something more than just Alexander. A mystery book from India and a book on the Cradle of Erotica is giving me some insights into other nation's problems. I learned that the dvd on Alexander by Stone will be released in Europe in April but that there is no date set for the USA. Due to its lack of popularity here in the states. The girl at the cinema store told me that nobody would see it because it was full of crap, and then she asked me if I had liked it when I requested a date for its release. She did admit to liking Angelina Jolie though. So I still don't know when it will be released here in the USA. I told her to let me know.I express my feelings about Oliver Stone's works mostly on his website. A better place for it, I think, as there something maybe can be done to correct the problem. In debate and argument, I was taught to attack the argument, not the arguer! Degenerating into personal attacks is childish, not adult, and certainly not professional. Most who argue professionally do so as a tool and not as a personal belief. But in my personal belief about Alexander, I prefer the positve contributions to the negative.

To Jan: DVD release
Well Jan, your video store clerk must be someone with considerable knowledge of the movie business to speak with such authority. Pity that she's wrong!
The Columbia House DVD club has Alexander already listed for pre-order, with a ship date of April 5th. That's in the U.S., of course.Best regards,Amyntoros

Re: Cont....
Hi Sikander,Well, after a few days of enforced absence from Pothos, what an interesting kettle of fish I've found on my return.Might I also add that a lot of self-moderation can go on, too - if we IGNORE those people who refuse to enter into adult debate and dicussion, and who frequently indulge in personal insults, then there's a greater chance that they'll stop. All the bestMarcus
Re: To Jan: DVD release
April 5! That is meaningful. HMMM! Could this be a demeterpersephone conspiracy after all? Thanks for telling me. I will ask again tomorrow.
Re: Cont....
Greetings Marcus,I agree about self-moderation. Perhaps self-discipline and control, as well.. why post something you *know* will be inflammatory, derogatory or offensive? Then again, perhaps that is their aim?Giving some thought to what is posted *prior* to posting would be one idea. Regards,
Sikander

Re: Cont....
Well, that's why I sort of ignored that possibility - the people who post inflammatory messages tend to *want* them to be inflammatory ... so asking people to moderate their own submissions is asking a bit much. :-)Still, the messages appear to be getting back to interesting topics again, which is good.ATBMarcus
