Time Commanders: Battle of Issus

Post by Kit »

For those people who can get the U.K's BBC2; the battle of Issus will be featured on this Sunday's episode of Time Commanders (9.15pm GMT).The contestants trying to emulate Alexander will be a mixed team of RAF/Army personnel. No excuses for them then!Regards,Kit.

Oh, goody! I like Time Commanders. I thought the one on Varus a couple of weeks ago was very good.I was disappointed when they did Gaugamela, because they didn't include all the units in the Persian army - the scythed chariots were notoriously missing. But the format of the show is good - I'll definitely be watching Issus on Sunday. All the bestMarcus

hail CompanionsThe programe was a lot better and more accurate than Gaugamela,,, Apart from having Alexander look like a middle aged bearded Maximus. This demonstrated just how brilliand a general Alexander actually was when a group of trained military men got smashed,,, However I got to say they were misled as we all know Craterus was ready to cross behing Porus,,, Im sure had they known this they would have acted accordingly. It put my mind back to the scene in the movie,,, the time commander was ok for the battle but was it more like it was in the film trees forests etc,, I was half expecting Alexanders demise but as a whole it was pretty good.
