Alexander the Fabulous.....?

Post by jay »

Does anyone know anything about the following book? Has anyone read it?Alexander the Fabulous: The Man Who Brought the World to Its Knees
by Michael AlvearI'm always in the market for Alexander books, whether fiction or non, but I wanted to get the opinions of others--before I ran out to purchase it--because of its subject matter. Apparrently it's a humourous look at Alexander's (alledged!!) homosexuality, among other things. It might be more goofy and/or farcical than anything else, so I'm approaching this one with caution.Thank you.

I am currently working on a review for Pothos. The book has a bit of an identity issue - it tries to combine real history with humor and it doesn't quite succeed.

I had a quick flick through the book in the bookshop, but decided it wasn't worth buying. It looks quite fun, but it's hardly a serious history book. Very much a gay-centric little publication, but done for humour value rather than as a serious evaluation.Tre, I look forward to your review - particularly in case I missed something by not reading it all the way through. All the bestMarcus
