Nectanebo's daughter / Ptolemy's wife
In a very outdated *History of the Greek World* by M. Cary, I find a remark that the second wife of Ptolemy (after the Iranian lady he married in Susa, and before his later wives Eurydice and Berenice) was a (nameless) daughter of the last king of independent Egypt, Nectanebo II.I find this very plausible, but can not find confirmation. Anyone any thoughts?Jona

Re: Nectanebo's daughter / Ptolemy's wife
That's certainly interesting, although on the geneology list I have for Ptolmey it shows only two wives, Eurydike, duaghter of Antipater and Berenice #2 wife. Maybe Nectenabo's daughter was just a 'concubine'??

It turns out that my information was indeed outdated - pity, I liked the idea. Here's the text I received.

This "lady" has had various identities, but it turns out that she is
completely fictitious. She has recently been shown to be a
misinterpretation of an inscription that named king Kheperkare Ptolemy (I);
for a long time it was incorrectly interpreted as naming "king Kheperkare"
and "Queen Ptolemais". You can read the full story here:http://www.tyndale.cam.ac.uk/Egypt/ptol ... ---------J
