Diodore, important question

Post by glaukias »

Hello,
I have a question concerning Diodore (Diodorus Siculus) and hope that somebody will be able to help me.
He is the last of the ancient sources I am reading right now. Well, in my edition there's a big gap between chapter 83 and 84 (17th book). Missing now is the whole Kallisthenes and Kleitus episode amongst other intersting things. I am wondering now if it is only my edition, because it's really old (Julius Friedrich Wurm, Wien, 1838) or if there's a gap in all Diodore editions. I cannot check any others because even getting this one has that I have has been extremely difficult. That's why my hopes are resting in this forum now.
Thanks a lot,
Anja

Thanks! And I thought that it was just my old edition. I knew about the lost books of Curtius Rufus, but had no idea about Diodore.
Well, thanks again.
