"All the FGrH authors on Alexander"Holy Hell, yes! LOL! Diodorus would be good, too, since there's no cheap Penguin translation. Plutarch, Arrian and Curtius are all available from Penguin for under $10. Not so Diodorus. Another idea is Polyaenus, the seconds on the Macedonians (Philip, ATG, etc.).

Heckel is doing an updated version of Berve, in English. It's been needed for a while. Have no idea when it's due out. I'm sure he'll be talking about it in Calgary in January.JRZ

Is that so? I'm pretty sure I've read in the bibliographies of some books that they are reproduced and translated in Pearson ... but perhaps I'm wrong.Thanks for the tip, though - I'll cut back my search for Pearson! ;-)Marcus
