Sex and Alexander

Post by canto »

Concerning the discussion of sexuality in relation to Alexander and the movie I just want to say I am so glad that people here can talk about it without becoming upset and ugly. I guess sex always comes up because it is an intimate part of who we are. It comes up with Alexander since there is a strong appetite for any info. about him. I would love to talk to him for reasons that have nothing to do with sex. And then, on the other hand, if I am to be honest, I feel attracted to him....unbelievable, foolish, I don't really know this man we talk of so much, yet I think I would spend the night with him.As far as the obsession Americans have with sex, food might be included, I don't know. It is a way to give one's self a break from problems ... put the tension somewhere else. And of course the young and healthy have their horomones. I do think we worry about it too much. There seems to be anxiety with it, as if it can define our strengths and weaknesses. As if it can destroy whole civilizations, and defame an individual in spite of all accomplishments, insights, dreams, and inspirations they can give to other people.
I don't think a movie can destroy Alexander. And I have a feeling that for the ancient soldier if he was fed and lucky to get sex (no matter from where) he was fairly satisfied. He didn't worry about being straight, bi, or gay. He just was.

Kyra HiI liked your post and no It was not silly what you said,, I knew a girl from pothos some time ago.She said she went to the British Museum, She said she looked at Alexanders Statue and imagined a guy she was in love with. She was very normal and engaged to be married i guess some girls have a romantic view of our guy as to think him there hero.Maybe in life we all do I dream of bean a warrior hero like Alexander or Aragon only fiction and as a father of a young daughter would like my daughter to find such a partner in life to look over her.regardsKenny

I agree completely, and I also am very attracted to Alexander... although, more than that, I love him in more of a sisterly or even (I'm only fifteen and this may sound nuts) motherly way. It's kind of hard to explain in what way I love him, but I do love him even though I've never met him.
