Greeks and Persians!

Post by Cyrus »

As you know our good friend Yiannis is a Greek and I'm a Persian, some days ago Yiannis came Iran from Athens and today for the second time we met each other in Tehran and went to National Museum of Iran.Historical objects in this museum had been classified by the date, I started to introduce these objects for Yiannis, "This the statue of Darius the Great", "This is the relief of Xerxes", [and now Alexander comes], so it is his turn to describe the objects for me, "This is the statue of Penelope", "This is the Marble inscription of Antiochus the Great", Yiannis could do it better than me because he could read Greek texts but I couldn't read Persian cuneiform.Other objects were familiar to both of us and I think Yiannis agrees with me that Persians and Greeks have already very similar culture.

I am so happy to read this! The Tehran museum is such a nice place, and indeed - a place where cultures meet.Jona
