Alexander's mount Rushmore

Post by geo »

Hi All, I read an article in NY Times that an American based Alexander the Great foundation out of Chicago, is going to carve a likeness of ATG 240 feet high (73 meters)high built into a Greek mountain! This carving will be 4x'x the size of Mt.Rushmore. The site is a Aegean fishing village of Asprovalta, or another site near to his birthplace Mount Kerdyllion nothern Greece ancient/ Macedonia....it will come repleat with an open theater , museums, ect. There is however opposition in Greece to the project?regards,
George

Oh God, Americans are contriving to be more megalomaniac then Alex himself...:(At least Alexander was charming and never did commonplace things....:(

Hi George,We had this discussion a couple of months ago. My feeling is that this silly project will never be brought to life. This is a small country and we like small and beautifull things instead of big and dominating ones!
Check the previous discussion for more info.regards,
Yiannis
