Re: looking for foto of alexander and bucephalos
I'm afraid you have a little problem. The statuette is in an Italian museum; if I recall correctly Florence, but the website says Rome, Villa Giulia. The copyright on official photos is probably owned by these institutes. And believe me - trying to obtain permission from in the Italian bureaucracy can be difficult (although I admit that my most recent dealings, with the questura of Caltanizetta, were easier than I expected). If you have located the statue, the best thing to do is probably to make a phone call and ask if things can be arrainged through your National Institute; most countries have a villa for art historians in Rome, and these national institutes have a duty to assist you.Jona

THIS IS AS CLOSE AS I CAN GET REGARDING ALEXANDER'S HORSE. HAVING A SENSE OF ALL THINGS GREAT AND SMALL, I ADMIRE HIM MOST FULLY FOR NAMING HIS HORSE AS IT SEEMS HE DID. THERE IS A POETRY TO DISCOVER THIS BOMB STOMER COULD CONCEDE TO SAYING, BUCEPHALOS, HERE BUCEPHALOS. IT ALL SEEMED TO MAKE SENSE AFTER THAT. IN THE LITTLE THINGS WE FIND SOLACE AND UNDERSTANDING.
