How Alexander REALLY died

Re: How Alexander REALLY died
You were here in June and posted the exact same words and then never followed up. I don't want to seem rude, but why not stop hinting and tell us what you know - and *how* you know it! Outside of time-travel, I can't imagine how anyone can make such a claim, but we'll give you a hearing if only you'll talk to us.

I just read an article by Andrew Chugg in Minerva magazine which says simply that most likely he was brought down by the mighty mosquito, as Malaria is the most likely conclusion. Excellent article! You should read it.

I've also heard that typhoid was the killer. He might have had either, but I still go with the 'death by malice' theory...that although he was ill and suffering from his war wounds, someone helped him along to make sure he would not recover.
Re: How Alexander REALLY died
hi companions, i was recently reading "mary renault" on the nature of alexander, and i have some problems with it right now. she mentions that antipater might have had someting to do with it, and i don;t believe it for a moment. to think the antipater would send bad water seems to be reaching for me. i think alexander was trusting, and antipater had no good reason to poison alexander...after all alexander shows no sign of returning 'HOME' and was only{it seems} interesting in going to new lands and spreading the message that "all men are created equal", it seems unlikely that any one of antipater's stature would stoop so low.but of course, none of us was there, but if there was a plan, i just can't see it. alexander was great and was loved by so many. could anyone really want him dead? tina rollsrite
