Hi CompanionsRecently I watched the Richard Burton movie, and was struck by its fast pace after Gaugamela. Though understandable, itGÇÖs another argument in favour of a trilogy or a miniseries about the Great Alex, rather than a 2-hour movie.Anyway, the point is that BurtonGÇÖs last words in the movie are the famous GÇ£to the strongestGÇ¥ (let us ignore the alternative GÇ£to KraterosGÇ¥, that is downplayed by everyone, except maybe the hardcore conspiracy theorists .However, thereGÇÖs an (alternative?) set of last words: the one that goes GÇ£when youGÇÖre happyGÇ¥ in response to the question about the time when Alex should be honoured (or his rites should be celebrated, or something like that).My question is: ignoring the fact that both could be romantic inventions, are they in different sources? Or part of the same? If they are in the same, which ones are the GÇ£trueGÇ¥ last words?For dramatic effect, if I were Stone, I would go with the GÇ£when youGÇÖre happyGÇ¥ one, as it paints Alex with a more humane brush, rather than the unconcerned and provocative GÇ£to the strongestGÇ¥ (though maybe the latter is better as a "sequel-trigger"? Maybe there's a Diadochi movie on the shelf? After all, Stone already has Anthony Hopkins as narrator...) What do you think?BestAlejandro

I believe there was a lot of ambiguity in the actual 'last' words. "Hoti to krateros" which evidently, if mis-heard had two meanings. Perdikkas took it to mean the 'strongest' and as he was there and Krateros wasn't he took over. But who really knows exactly. I believe that 'when you are happy' goes with the question Alexander was asked about when they should hold his funeral games. And he said "when you are happy". ruthaki

And I wonder how can someone think those diadochi-whatever deserve a Hollywood movie! They were booooressssss.No, no, let's put it the other way --- they *DO* deserve a Holywood movie! Yess!Who doesn't deserve it is Alexander, poor thing.
Nobody with a minimum decency deserves a holliwoos movie as it is....

HI,Alexander's last words were- to the KERATA, in Makedonian this means person who is very inteligent, smart, prud, stronge and noble in same time...So it is not only strong......Fact....,St. Francis of Asisi went to The Pope to give him a letter which, apparently The Pope did not want to recive, and by the time he reached The pope, The Pope was dead.
