Companions, Macedonians.I saw some of the lines from thr 60s Alexander film it goes like this:King Philip says."The Mycenae openly decrares that the battle of Cheronaea, shall decide once and for all who shall be master in Greece"Memnon. "Athenians" Shouts and ralies his forces.Then King Philip Shouts."Macedonians, Give him his answer".The answer was total victory for Macedonia and the true real masters in Greece.I found it very rousing and Macedonian.

I also love when Darius sends Alexander the ball & gold along with a letter and then Alexander's response, by letter, those lines were classic!

AndrewI'm glad you came back with another line from the film, Althought this film was generally panned by our members, with Richard Burtons wig etc.But I do feel the lines and the oratory comming from Richard Burton was very good and inspiring,when I heard Colin Farrel, I would have wished that he bad Burtons voive and charisma." You can actually buy the Burton film quite cheaply on DVD here in the UK, if you have a mind to?Kit.

I saw the Burton movie when I was very young and had been enthralled with Alexander since age 16, reading and studying everything I could about him and by the time I finished high school had written a 90,000 wd novel with an Alexander theme. I was horribly disappointed by that film, and by Burton playing Alexander (in spite of his impressive voice). And since then I aquired a copy of the film and watched it again. A stupid film. Check the sets. I hold my breath waiting to see what they'll do with this new one!

It is indeed a "not so good" movie.
I have it on DVD, just because it is about Alexander, but I was very dissapointed when I saw it.
