Alexander's busts
Hello,I noticed that most of ALexander's head busts have the nose broken off. I wonder if this is something that naturally happen to head busts in general, since the nose is the part if the face that protrudes. Or was this something that was systematicall done to Alexander's busts specifically?--Karla
Re: Alexander's busts
As you guessed, anything prominent tends to break -- noses, ears, fingers, arms, bits of hair, penises (g). It's something we see with a lot of statues, not just ATG.Dr. Jeanne Reames-Zimmerman;
