Val Kilmer, who played Alexander's father Philip in Oliver Stone's Alexander (2004), has sadly passed away. His performance did not do justice to Philip's intelligence and dynamism, but that was not wholly his fault as the script and direction seemed to call for him to be permanently drunk.
