New website - opinion

I have been working on a new front page for the website. Please could you take a look and give me your opinion and any comments or suggestions.
https://pothos.org/contentnew/index.html. It doesn't look too bad on my phone!
Do you think it is too flashy?
Do you think it will attract new members?
I have also been working on a template for the sub-pages

Looks good. Yes, I think it might help to attract - the current view is quite old, and old-looking, which might indeed be a turn-off for some people.

The new site looks good- more what people might expect to see today. Hope it draws the attention of new people.
Still in the working stages but I can see how it should work when it's full-on.
Navigation still new to me but time will make it smoother.

Hi, thanks for your input. The initial page is designed to draw people in and the subsequent pages will have a more text-based and flatter navigation - once I can get the responsive HTML to work.
