Here's how young Alexander looked while Philip was still king. (From the painting on Philip's tomb.)

John, John, John...You mean, surely, "here is a representation that might be Alexander, from the tomb that might be Philip's"?

(Still, I'm not going to get into this one, either, because things are already too heated, and it's getting as boring as the sexuality debate.)All the bestMarcus

Actually, I'm willing to go one further:This very painting of Alexander on Philip's tomb was actually looked upon (and approved) by Alexander himself.Alexander had about a year and a half to complete the tomb after Philip died and before he left to cross the Hellespont on his expedition against Persia.... Just don't ask about the pink dress. It's NOT a pink dress; it's a royal purple cloak that faded over 2,300-odd years.John

The photos are taken from the book "Vergina: The Royal Tombs and the Ancient City" by Manolis Andronicos, which is still available for purchase, I believe.

Right. It's a big red book, filled with nice photos. I got mine from a used bookstore. I've never seen it in a new bookstore.John
