The two names Arrifron and Perikles, the two brothers does not leave much room for doubts about the cup in question being used by the great man of Athens himself (just enlarge the cup photo and see).

A personal note: Since my recent retirement from the office my work email is inactive.

This archeological find is very interesting: I would like to see it directly! In a way it remind me of Athenian 'ostraka', though there was not uncommon to write names of drink companions on a cup, or dedicate a cup to someone. Thanks for sharing!
