Anyway I have been trying hard to find Alexander in the Jataka stories but have not succeeded yet but there is precious stuff in the Cullakalinga Jataka. You can use Prof. Cowell's translation. Only you must remember not to be distracted by Jones. I have maintained that Diodotus was Asoka and Asoka's famous Kalinga war was in the Parthia-Iran area not in modern Orissa. Pliny gave Parthalis as the chief city of Kalinga which should tell you something. This story is about Seleucus and Chandragupta. I am sure you would enjoy it.With best regards,Dr. Pal

Dear Dr PalThanks for sending this reference, I shall enjoy hunting it down. I found Alexander in the online Avesta earlier today, and I'm trying to get together these references. I've heard that there may have been references in Afghani manuscripts, but they disappeared under the Taliban and other invaders, and they really needed an expert to interpret them.Best RegardsSusan
