As promised at the beginning of the month, I have now added some pages giving details of the project to reconstruct the lost history of Alexander by Cleitarchus of Alexandria to my website at http://www.alexanderstomb.com/This includes Jacoby's fragments and Hammond's attributions of the sources of Diodorus, Plutarch, Justin and Curtius. There is also an introductory discussion of the nature of Cleitarchus' work. I am now leaning towards it having comprised 13 books, one for each year of Alexander's reign, starting in the summer of 336BC.Pothosians could especially help at this stage by searching for possible fragments of Cleitarchus in sources like Aelian, Strabo, Pliny and Plutarch's Moralia. Any story connected in any way with any of the fragments of Cleitarchus identified by Hammond would be a good candidate. Stories associated with any of Jacoby's fragments would also merit scrutiny. You could either post your ideas on this forum for discussion or reach me via the contact form on my website.Best wishes,Andrew

Hi Andrew,That looks really good - thanks.I shall *try* to involve myself in this project, because I'd love to. I have a feeling that time *won't* permit, but I shall do what I can.All the bestMarcus

Thanks Marcus.I don't think this will happen very quickly, so I don't expect there will be any time pressure. I plan on updating the site once a month or so.All the best,Andrew
