Info from Iraq - Alexander's theatre

Post by maciek »

Hello Companions!
It took me quite long to load some pictures but it's really hard to get used to new system of work which is here. We have duties 12h and 24h break so it is once day and once night shifts and it's quite confusing. Now I have some nice pictures from our archeologists working here and I'd like to shere them with You.
Well first is the theatre of Alexander - ofcourse reconstruction wasn't made according to known findings but still it can give some image how it could look like:

The second is the same theatre from air:

And last with the theatre - but it is quite interesting because we know that archeologists which found place of this theatre in XIX century found also close to it plase of storaged materials for rebuilding the Ziggurat Ethemenaki. Alex died before he could do it but this place can be the same where today they place materials for reconstructions:

Here is Northern palace - todays Barnun where Alex most probably died.

And last for now is the southern palace of Nabuhodonezar II.

Seems quite unreal for me.The Theater,as far as I can see, looks built in Roman architectural site.So far so good...
